EMILY MAKIS
Emily Makis has established herself as one of the most distinctive voices emerging from the UK electronic underground - an artist, vocalist and songwriter whose work bridges raw club culture with undeniable songwriting.
Rooted in drum & bass and jungle, Emily quickly became a defining voice within the scene, delivering standout collaborations including Kanine’s ‘Stand Up’ and the Silver-certified ‘Phoneline’. Her unmistakable vocal style and ability to bring emotion into high-energy electronic music has made her one of the genre’s most in-demand collaborators.
That reputation expanded far beyond DnB when Emily stepped into the studio with Becky Hill, co-writing the UK Top 10, Double Platinum single ‘Disconnect’. The record marked a defining moment — proving Emily was not only a powerful artist in her own right, but a songwriter capable of shaping some of the biggest electronic records in the world.
Since then, Emily’s momentum has continued to build, with a BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record, support from Charlie Tee, collaborations with Skream & Benga, a performance alongside the duo at The Warehouse Project, a Boomtown debut, a sold-out Alexandra Palace performance supporting Wilkinson, and her own headline show at fabric London.
Born from the underground but built for a bigger stage, Emily Makis represents a new generation of electronic artist: authentic, unpredictable and impossible to categorise.
Not a vocalist stepping out from electronic music - an artist redefining where electronic music can go next.
